We just wanted to pass on a few timely local opportunities for action this weekend. Please note these are not OWOF events, but are being organized by other advocacy groups in the area. Additionally, we will soon have more information regarding requests from our Jackson County neighbors as well as expansion trainings for KYR for businesses and healthcare facilities. Watch for another OWOF newsletter this month!

In Chelsea, An Action and a Food Drive beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 5:00 PM, at the southeast corner (the post office corner) of Old US-12 & Main Street (M-52) you have an opportunity to resist and emphasize “We the People” say, again: PEACE or Healthcare for All.

PLEASE DONATE IF YOU VALUE THIS KIND OF ACTION IN OUR COMMUNITIES! Help OWOF sponsor important programs and discussions in Western Washtenaw County and beyond. Click this box to donate online or mail to OWOF PO Box 31, Chelsea, MI 48118. Thank you very much! Your support helps us keep social justice matters visible.

Ann Arbor City Council is considering an Ice- Free Zone resolution on Feb 2.

This Friday!

A pretty comprehensive list of mutual aid for Immigrants, legal defense funds, individuals and businesses whose lives and livelihoods have been interrupted by ICE in the Twin Cities.

January 20. Standing room only crowd gathered to demand the Jackson (Michigan)County Board of Commissioners rescind the 287g agreement with ICE. While the commissioners did not comply yet, the Jackson County for Immigrants Coalition is mobilizing everyday to GET ICE OUT. Let’s do what we can to support. Will post more info as we receive.
