Sylvia Nolasco-Rivers Featured Speaker at Mavens & Mocktails – Chelsea, March 19

This is not an OWOF-sponsored event; however, it features a friend of OWOF who arrived in the US through the Sanctuary Movement and has long fought for immigration rights. She is an amazing person and has a lot to share. It will also be a fun event.

From The Sky – The Mavens and Mocktails series is designed to bring fabulous, amazing women together to hear inspirational stories about other amazing women living with passion and purpose. We’ve known Sylvia for years and she is a pretty special person doing very good work both through Pilar’s Tamales and with Pilar’s Foundation. As a child Sylvia came to the US from El Salvador through the Sanctuary Movement in the 1980’s. She has been fighting for immigrants rights and making amazing food her whole life.

In addition to being inspired by Sylvia’s story there will also be a fun, interactive activity, themed signature mocktails (did someone mention hibiscus?), and Salvadoran nibbles (yum!). Perfect for an intergenerational audience and just about anyone who could use a bit of inspiration and community. It would be great to have a crowd for Sylvia and really nice to see you!  Please pass on to friends!

PS – We have some free tickets to this event to give away as well – let us know if you have a young woman (or any age for that matter) who might benefit from positive, feel-good, woman forward community and inspiration! Thanks!
