January Extra – Two key items

This is January 19th and there are news reports of ICE agents gathering in major American cities.

 

Here are two concrete local actions you can take to support our immigrant neighbors   Please see the items below.  One is Monday, one on Tuesday.

ORDINANCE REGARDING IMMIGRATION STATUS!

Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the Chelsea City Council meeting will consider a second reading of the City of Chelsea Solicitation of Immigration Status Ordinance. Below is an excerpt from the ordinance language. The whole document is posted in the council package online here (pg 78). Please consider attending the meeting and speaking at public comment to support the ordinance.  Public comment is at the very beginning of the 7:00 pm meeting or send emails to the council members directly. OWOF is one of many groups organizing for good change in our communities. This all group, public meeting on Sun, Feb 22nd in Chelsea will feature a number of local folks taking action. Hope to see you there!
